The Sylvania village in the Linden forest
In the forest, close to the seaside, lies a cozy village where happy families of woodland animals live...
I am a beginning, but avid collector of Sylvanian Families (American readers will know them as Calico Critters). I got my very first sets in January 2022 - the Chocolate rabbit family, the lakeside lodge and the haunted house.
My favorite themes to collect are:
- Forest, treehouses, gardens, natural themes
- Seaside theme, islands, ships, mermaids
- Anything to do with fantasy and the magical: fairy-like themes, horses with the unicorn hairbands, mermaids, witches and spooky creatures. Misty Forest is a dream of mine!
Some things I do not specifically go after are dogs, as I don't like them in real life and have bad memories, and the sitting/crawling twin sets (even though I love twin characters in general!!), as I find it a little sad that they are not articulated. But I end up with quite a bit of both from blind bags and sometimes themed sets, and absolutely do not mind. I don't buy babies standalone in general as I have an overflow of them from blind bags and themed baby sets.
Maybe one day this place will have a beautiful interactive village map or something. For now, I'll put a collection overview, maybe a wishlist, photos, craft and customization projects, and maybe some stories.
